In this case, the above statement is totally inaccurate. Lots of men have gone to this particular place, and lots of women and children too. But, it was a new one for me, and I’ve been thinking about CAPT. James T. Kirk a lot lately because I’m not so sure how long Williams Shatner is going to be around. 

But, what is the strange new world that I speak of? Drone photography and videography. I took the test for the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification yesterday…and passed. Given my background, I would have REALLY been embarrassed not to pass, but I did. 

The significance of this is that I plan to add a completely new genre of service to Kitsap businesses: aerial photography and videography. I think when most folks hear “drone photography”, their minds go immediately to real estate photography, and that’s definitely something I plan to push into (in fact, I’m really interested in Real Estate / Architecture / Design) but it’s more. I see this as a GREAT way to add impact to lots of different business’ imagery and branding. Can you imagine having aerial footage of a guide service CAPT. gliding across the sound? How about some overhead shots of outdoor seating at a cool restaurant? How about a nursery? 

Anyway, I hope to be able to offer these services to commercial clients in Northwest Arkansas including Bella Vista, Bentonville, Centerton, Rogers, Gravette, and the area. I will NOT be the guy wearing the red uniform though. ;)
